After the gift opening event, and sad good-bye's were said (tears included), Landon and I cleaned up a few things from the wedding/reception chaos, ate more cake, cleaned our messy room, unpacked, took a looong nap and packed for the honeymoon. After the jeep was loaded with all of our bags, ski's, goodies, and wedding music, we were off! About 1 mile later, house no longer in sight Mr. L mentioned he forgot his phone charger. "eh, we don't need it" we both decided. (very pertinent info for later)
Ms. Carol, one of the Davis' family friends, and one of my favorite people, graciously gave us a nights stay at The Hotel Monocco. We were so excited, and ended up getting lost for at least 45 minutes downtown Salt Lake City. We found the hotel and then realized we had passed it at least 3 or 4 times. Gah! My phone's first navigation fail! (also important info for later) As we pulled in we saw a parking garage marked guests, so we assumed that ment us and drove right in. There were "reserved" parking spots as far as the eye could see, and not a soul/car in sight. After driving around for a while we found the elevator and went to the 1st level. Stepping out of the elevator there were glass doors, that were locked. yes locked. We rang the bell and was met by a security guard. After asking questions we found out we were at the office buildings adjacent to the hotel. The security guard assured us we could park anywhere we wanted, so we left the jeep and hauled all of our stuff through the garage.
The hotel was very lovely and the lady at the front desk was wearing a leopard robe. Mr. L and I laughed all the way up to the room. My breath was taken away as we stepped into the room! It was so esthetically pleasing! These pictures don't do it justice. I wanted to take home almost all the lamps! After the long drive and all the excitement, we were starving and didn't want to leave again (it was past 9:40 at this point) so Domino's was delivered. As we were waiting we laughed about different scenarios we could play once the delivery guy arrived. (None of them happened, sorry to disappoint)
