The Engagment Story... By Mr. L

At the request of the beautiful, charming Miss Malarie I shall attempt to relate the story of how she became my beautiful and charming Miss Malarie. First I feel that I should give a little background about our interactions before the engagement. And yes when I say little I do mean little, because, despite a somewhat inflated sense of self importance, I do realize that my life story is not actually as interesting as I would like to believe.
I started to date the lovely Miss Malarie just over 6 months ago and had no idea at the time that I was courting my soon to be fiance and future wife. She was not initially aware of it either and actually had to be talked into accepting this first date by a close friend (insert blow to previously mention inflated sense of self importance here). Despite any misgivings however, the first date led to a second and a third and soon our dates began to occur more frequently and at some interval between then and now I realized I was very much in love with her. Luckily this sentiment was returned.

I began to plan for some spectacular way to propose. Plan A involved a scenic picnic in the mountains and rather stunning fall leaves, but unfortunately fell through when cold weather covered the planned location in a few inches of snow. Plan B utilized the loft, a portion of my house that we had both spent a lot of time in together. I kept the picnic idea and set everything up complete with picnic basket, tasty food, and other picnicy and not so picnicy elements (music, blanket ect.) I hid the ring at the bottom of the basket and had the brilliant Miss Malarie pull out all the food until eventually finding the ring hidden at the bottom. She was very surprised, said yes, and we spent the rest of the day informing friends and family.

And yes I'm afraid I am largely responsible for much of the exceptional Miss Malarie's lack of regular blog posts of late. I will attempt to start feeling a little more guilty for stealing her away.

Until then...
